Patrick Rupert-Kruse

He is professor for media theory and immersion studies at the media department of the University of Applied Sciences Kiel. He wrote his doctoral thesis about the intercorrelation between imagination and empathy and lectured at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel. He is the head of the Institute for Immersive Media, vice chairman of the society of interdisciplinary image studies, co-founder of the Research Group Moving Image Science Kiel, and managing editor of the Yearbook of Immersive Media and the Yearbook of Moving Image Studies. His research areas are studies on immersion, media studies and philosophy, media effect studies and moving image studies.
