Andreas Kirchner

 

Andreas Kirchner, M.A. is research associate at the Centre for Digital Cultures at Leuphana University, Lüneburg (Germany). From 2006-2012 he was lecturer and research assistant at the Department of Media Studies at Philipps-University, Marburg (Germany) where he co-organized the film festival Marburger Kamerapreis. In 2008, he was DAAD fellow at the Department of Media, Cognition and Communication at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark). In the same year, he co-founded the publishing house Büchner-Verlag, Darmstadt (Germany). He is co-editor of, among others, Nähe und Empathie. Die Bilderwelten der Kamerafrau Judith Kaufmann (2013) and Abschied vom Zelluloid? Beiträge zur Geschichte und Poetik des Videobildes (2009) as well as author of various articles on film and media aesthetics and history. Currently, he is working on his doctoral thesis on visual concepts in Lars von Trier’s feature films.
